James Elliot, our Chief Judge writes:
Here are the results from the UK jury... drum roll... and the winner is Angus Marshall.
The judges would like to stress that, if anything, the position Angus holds actually made it harder rather than easier for him to win this award, yet the decision was still unanimous, which is testament to how highly regarded he is.
The judging panel consisted of
James Elliot (Chief Judge and Editor of Octane Magazine)
Sara Helmer (Oliver's sister and a good friend to the Lotus community)
Adam Wilkins (Editor and Publisher of Absolute Lotus Magazine)
The other nominees for the 2023 award were (in no particular order):
(Angus says that they are all far more deserving than he is)
The nominations for Angus Marshall cited his many years supporting the Excel community, establishing the earliest presence at the NEC shows, organising international connections and most importantly sourcing solutions to critical obsolete parts such as window frames.
This includes a parts cross reference website and other useful aids such as technical guides.
Also for the quiet revolution he has led in the quest for redesigning, manufacturing, and making available improved door handles, overriders, and fog light covers for the Excel during 2022.
