The Oliver Winterbottom Memorial Award

The Award

Oliver Winterbottom was more than a car designer, he was a great friend to the communities which exist because of his designs. His absence is a loss to us all.

This award has been created in his memory, to celebrate his life and work by rewarding an individual or organisation, from the Lotus community, for their contribution.

Name: The Oliver Winterbottom Memorial Award
Purpose: to recognise the person who, in the opinion of the judges, has made the most appropriate contribution to promoting the Lotus Elite, Eclat or Excel vehicle(s) or owners’ community in the 12 months since the start of the last judging period.
Promoter - the promoter is “Team Excel: The Lotus Excel Owners’ club” whose activities are based around the website https://www.lotusexcel.co.uk/ and the Facebook group : https://www.facebook.com/groups/ACBC.TeamExcel
Eligibility: the competition is open to anyone who owns one of these vehicles, or is involved in the operation of a business or club which supports these vehicles and their owners. Previous winners and nominees may enter in subsequent years.
The judging period will run from 24th December to 23rd February, the following year.
The award will be announced on 24th February, which was Mr. Winterbottom’s birthday.
